Want to break into advertising but don’t know where to start?
No experience? No problem. And no, you don’t need to know someone’s cousin who “works in the industry.”
At Baked, we want to hear from you.
Rise is our early careers program with one key difference: we pay you. Three months in, you’ll be knee-deep in design, strategy, video production or 3D animation and motion design—depending on what you’re vibing with. You’ll be joining an exclusive Rise alumni network for life, complete with ongoing mentorship.
What will you actually do?
You’ll be living and breathing advertising. You’ll learn how to brief, how to craft a campaign from nothing, and how to manage creative chaos. We’ll teach you to develop insights, write strategies that make clients go “wow,” and work with photographers and directors who’ll bring those ideas to life. You’ll be on live projects, attending talks, and clinics that sharpen your skills.
Who are we after?
We want driven, curious people who are nice (trust us, it matters). No CV stacked with internships required. We’re not interested in where you’ve been, but what you’ll bring to the table.
We can’t support remote work or applicants living overseas—this is an in-the-room type of vibe.
How do you apply?
Applications for our first 2025 cohort are now open. The placement kicks off on 3rd February 2025 and runs until 2nd April 2025.
Here’s how it works:
Once the interviews are done, we’ll pick the final few to join us for an assessment day at our Torquay office. It’s a chance for you to show us who you are and meet more of the Baked crew. It’s a two-way street—you’ll see if you fit in, and we’ll figure out if this is your jam.
FAQ
How old do I have to be?
You need to be 18 or over to apply.
I need a visa to work in the UK—can I apply?
Sorry, no. We can’t sponsor visas for this program.
What qualifications or experience do I need?
None. We’re interested in you, not your CV.
Do I need my own laptop?
If you’re at the interview stage, you’ll need a device for the video call. If you make it through, we’ll kit you out with everything you need for the job.
Can I work another job while on this placement?
It’s a full-time commitment. But if you’ve got personal circumstances, we can chat about flexibility during the interview.
Where will the placement be, and what are the hours?
Mostly at our Torquay office, Monday-Friday, 9.00-5.30pm. We do hybrid working, but some days we’ll need you here, on-site, doing the good stuff.
How much will I get paid?
£11.44 per hour.
What happens after the placement?
You’re encouraged to apply for any roles at Baked once the program wraps, but we can’t promise a job. However, we won’t let great talent slip away unnoticed.
Do I pick the department?
Yes, but if you want to rotate across a few, we can make that work too.
What if I miss the deadline?
You’ll have to wait for the next cohort, but there will be more.
Any tips for the application?
Keep it simple. Don’t overthink. Great ideas are usually the ones that feel obvious when you say them out loud.
What’s the interview like?
It’s about connection. We want to see the real you, the one who’s passionate about this industry.
Assessment day? Yikes!
Yep, a bit of pressure - but if you’ve made it that far, we already believe in you.
Can I get feedback if I don’t make it?
We’ll give feedback to everyone who makes it to the interview stage, but due to the volume of applicants, we can’t offer individual feedback to all.
If I’m unsuccessful, can I apply again?
Absolutely. Keep an eye on our site for the next application window.
